Over the past three months, Volcom retailers in Perth have been receiving donated jeans from customers as a part of Volcom Australia’s national Give Jeans A Chance initiative. On Wednesday 20th of June, nearly 500 pairs of jeans were delivered to Tranby Day Centre, UnitingCare West’s support centre for people experiencing homelessness. “These jeans will definitely go a long way with the Tranby clients. We are very grateful for Volcom’s support. Thank you to everyone who was involved” says Sue Ash, UnitingCare West CEO. UnitingCare West would like to extend its sincere thanks to Volcom Australia for their support, and to everyone in Perth who donated jeans to the appeal. Tranby Day Centre is part of the UnitingCare West Inner City Centre. The support centre provides breakfast, take away meals, showers and clothing to walk in clients five days a week. A mental health nurse, Centrelink, and a GP are also available on site. During these winter months, Tranby is in constant need of warm clothing, such as beanies and socks, as well as travel sized toiletries for clients. To make a donation to Tranby, contact the UnitingCare West Inner City Centre on 9220 1288. |
