Strengthening Families

As part of its commitment to supporting and empowering those most in need, UnitingCare West offers a broad suite of services to families in the WA community who are experiencing adversity in their lives.
Central to these services is the belief that all children have a right to be safe and that all families have strengths and resources that they can be supported to build upon to improve the quality of their current situation.
To ensure the best possible service to our clients, all programs are evidence based and under ongoing evaluation.

  • Attach - Parenting, Drug and Alcohol Service

The Attach service is a practical, 12 week in-home counselling program for parents who have a drug or alcohol problem.

  • Intensive Family Services

These programs focus on parenting and family functioning with the aim of bringing about nurturing and safe environments for children.

  • Child and Family Therapeutic Service (CAFTS)

This is a child sexual abuse service that provides counselling from a centre in Inglewood, where there are four dedicated counselling rooms including a therapeutic play room.

  • New Parent Infant Network (Newpin)

Newpin is a centre-based, early intervention program directed at strengthening family functioning and supporting stressed families, with particular focus on the mother-child relationship.
