At UnitingCare West we work with a range of children and young people who for a variety of reasons aren't able to live with their family.
That is where Foster Carers come in to our work...
What is Foster Care?
Foster care is the care of a child or young person who is not able to live with their own family. Foster care aims to provide children and young people with a safe and supportive home where they can form meaningful relationships and can be supported to grow and develop to their full potential.
Who can become a foster carer?
Foster carers are women and men of all ages and walks of life. You could be single, married or have a family. You could have fostering experience or have worked with children who have disabilities or complex needs, or you could be looking for new challenges and opportunities.
We are looking for people who have empathy and compassion, who are passionate and resilient and are able to make a long term commitment to nurture children and support their growth and development.
