Independent Living Program
What is the Independent Living Program?
The Independent Living Program is an initiative providing housing and support for people with severe and persistent mental illness to live independently in the community. The program works in partnership with 6 metropolitan community Mental Health Clinics who hold the waitlists and provide referrals when properties become available.
The supported housing model aims to combine the social, property and tenancy aspects of each tenant, and aims to achieve favourable social and housing outcomes and minimise evictions.
Who is the Independent Living Program for?
This support service assists people with a chronic, persistent mental illness through a network of 225 houses in Perth’s northern suburbs.
How can I get involved?
Referrals for accommodation are received from mental health clinics. Individuals cannot apply for accommodation themselves.
We can however provide you with advice around the service, so please get in touch if you would like to know more.
